Restaurant Targeted by Burglars ; This Is the Third Break-In Suffered by Greek Eatery Owners in Four Weeks

POLICE are scouring CCTV footage after a burglary at a restaurant.

Security film shows a man appearing to prise open the gate at the back of the Parthenon Taverna, on Church Street in Heywood.

A second person is then seen walking into the back yard of the Greek restaurant.

The pair then crawl through a broken panel in the back door. Once inside, a man is seen hastily cleaning a door panel while the second suspect walks to the cash till and seating area.

Sharon Smith, who runs the restaurant with her partner, Ramos Kisa, said it is third time the restaurant has been broken into in four weeks. CCTV footage of the suspected burglary - on Monday morning - has been handed to police. Sharon said: "They've just taken cash from the float and one of the girls' tips. They've gone to the same place each time but they didn't find anything this time because we haven't left any money there after the first two break- ins. …
