Darrian Stewart Sentenced to 3 Years for Central Topeka Gas Station Robbery

A Topeka man was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to robbing a central Topeka gas station.

Darrian Stewart, 22, pleaded guilty to one count of robbery in January. He faced a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

According to a plea agreement, Stewart walked into a BP convenience store at 1401 S.W. Huntoon about 8:20 p.m. June 20, 2015.

As he approached the counter, Stewart pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at a store employee identified in court documents as C.B.

Stewart demanded money, and C.B., believing he would be shot if he didn't comply, opened the store's cash register and handed over $264, according to the plea agreement.

After fleeing on foot, Stewart was identified as a suspect from surveillance video and identified in photographs by C. …
