Steelers team doctor Jim Bradley is accustomed to attending the injured during a football game. He didn't think he would be pressed into duty at the U.S. Open.

Bradley was walking with Jason Day, the No. 1 player in the world who was playing the front nine holes at Oakmont Country Club Tuesday. Bradley serves as Day's chief medical adviser.

Day was playing a practice round with Chris Crawford, a U.S. Open qualifier who plays at Drexel University, when Crawford's caddie broke his ankle raking a greenside bunker on the par-3 sixth hole.

"Jason comes over to me and says, ?Hey Jimmy, come here, I think this guy broke his ankle,'?" Bradley said.

So Bradley goes to the bunker and, with Day's help, carries the caddie, Billy Henaghan, out of it. …
