Shortstop Paul Witt, the state player of the year from Jefferson, heads up the rosters for the North-South baseball games set for Sunday at Nitro High School. The event, which was originally scheduled for the University of Charleston's Triana Field, begins with a pro-style workout at 10 a.m., followed by a doubleheader set to start at noon.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and children 12 and under.

Witt is joined on the 29-man North roster by Jefferson teammate Brad Davis, a left-handed pitcher. The Cougars won their 12th Class AAA state title earlier this month.

Class A state champ Wahama is represented on the South roster by pitcher Mason Hicks (see rosters, Page 2B).

Six Kanawha Valley athletes are set to compete for the 28-player South squad - Branson Martin and Blake Stover of Hurricane, Brett Watts and Austin Henrich of Poca, Matt Justice of Herbert Hoover and Casey Frye of Winfield. …
