Governor Christie has nominated Assemblyman Scott T. Rumana for a Superior Court judgeship in Passaic County.

Christie notified lawmakers of the nomination in a letter sent Wednesday to the clerk of the Senate.

Rumana, R-Wayne, has been an assemblyman since 2008 and has been the Republican whip since 2012.

He was the mayor of Wayne from 2002 to 2007, a council member from 1994 to 1997 and a Passaic County freeholder from 1997 to 2000.

He works as an attorney with the Wayne law firm Hunziker, Jones and Sweeney.

Rumana represents the 40th Legislative District, which includes the Bergen County towns of Allendale, Franklin Lakes, Ho-Ho-Kus, Midland Park, Ridgewood, Waldwick and Wyckoff and the Passaic County towns of Wayne, Little Falls, Totowa, Woodland Park and Pompton Lakes, as well as Cedar Grove in Essex County and Pequannock in Morris County. …
