Jailed Man Also Stole from Walmart, Cops Say

A 38-year-old man who was being held in the Bergen County Jail after his arrest on a charge of pulling a knife on a Costco security guard to escape with a television set faces new charges of shoplifting from a Walmart in Teterboro, authorities said Wednesday.

Moonachie Police Detecive Sgt. Anthony Fugnitti said Tuan M. Vo and a female companion were initially arrested June 2 after they left the Costco store in Teterboro, escaping through an emergency fire door with a television set.

They were challenged by a security guard, Fugnitti said, adding that Vo pulled a knife and the pair made a getaway in a vehicle from a hired car service.

Officials at Costco gave the license plate number of the car to police, who were able to trace the car to Vo and his alleged companion, Nicole Ripoli, both of Little Ferry. …
