VICTORY is very much the flavour of the month at the National Speedway Stadium as once again the Belle Vue Aces bagged themselves a big home win and maximum league points.

All eyes were on the action in Manchester after inclement weather washed out all but one other fixture yesterday - and the Rentruck Aces lived up to expectations with a 56-37 win over Wolves.

Their efforts see them move up to fourth in the top-flight table, if only temporarily, as they prepare to face an extended weekend of racing, first at Leicester tomorrow and then Wolverhampton on Monday.

Elite draft reserve Joe Jacobs brought the arena to life with a performance the Belle Vue fans have been desperate to see since he first donned the red, white and black.

His more than credible score of 7+2 was only three points short of a paid maximum, the result of just one last place in his first outing, though the 22-year-old was more than happy to take that. …
