Verizon workers voted to approve new contracts negotiated after the end of the 45-day strike in late May involving about 39,000 workers, the Communication Workers of America said on Friday.

In separate negotiations, CWA members in the New York-New England, mid-Atlantic and New Jersey regions voted to ratify four- year contracts. Other workers, represented by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, also ratified their contracts, the union said.

The new contracts cover employees primarily in Verizon's wireline business and will run through Aug. 3, 2019.

The ratified contracts for wireline workers included, among other things, a 10.9 percent raise over the next four years, a $1,250 signing bonus in the mid-Atlantic region and a $1,000 signing bonus plus $250 health reimbursement arrangement in the Northeast states, and a minimum of $700 in Corporate Profit Sharing payments in each of the next four years. …
