GM Named for Chesapeake Arena, Cox Center

OKLAHOMA CITY - SMG selected Hugh J. Lombardi as the new general manager for the Chesapeake Energy Arena and Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City.

Lombardi was senior vice president and general manager of the TD Garden in Boston. Earlier he was chief operating officer, senior vice president and general manager of the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The Sommet Center is now Bridgestone Arena.

Lombardi has a bachelor's degree from Stonehill College in North Easton, Massachusetts.

"Operating large public event facilities like Oklahoma City's Chesapeake Energy Arena and Cox Convention Center require highly specialized skills, vision and dedication to leverage opportunities, maximize the guest experience, enhance quality of life and stimulate the visitor-based economy," said Thomas Anderson, executive manager of special projects for Oklahoma City. …
