Blues Sign Jaskin to Two-Year Deal

The Blues finalized their first signing of the offseason on Thursday.

The club and forward Dmitrij Jaskin agreed to a two-year, $2 million extension, meaning the annual average value (AAV) of the contract is $1 million. It is a one-way deal, so he will be paid his NHL salary even if he's assigned to the minors.

Jaskin, 23, a second-round pick in 2011, was coming off a one- year contract that paid him $775,000.

"It's great to be part of a group like this," Jaskin told the Blues' website. "It's great to have the opportunity to be part of this team. To get the (Western Conference) final, it's a big motivation. You want to get there again and in (these) two years, I hope we'll get even further. I'm really excited for next season."

In his second full season with the Blues, Jaskin didn't have the goal production in 2015-16 that he had in '14-15. …
