Family Vigil to Mark Birthday of Tragic MP

THE family and friends of MP Jo Cox killed in her Yorkshire constituency last week are to hold a vigil in Manchester tomorrow to mark her birthday.

Mrs Cox would have turned 42 this week and in tribute to her life and values, various memorial events are to take place across Britain.

Her relatives say the 'outpouring of kindness' from well-wishers throughout the country and further afield has been a source of strength over the last few heartbreaking days.

Former Moss Side councillor Alistair Cox is uncle to Jo's bereaved husband Brendan.

He said: "It's been a terrible time. It's something you don't imagine happening to anybody.

"But we have a strong family and it is inspiring to see the way in which we are all supporting each other and making sure they are all OK at the worst possible time in their lives. …
