SALFORD CITY have received a boost with the news goalkeeper Jay Lynch will be staying on next season.

The former Bolton trainee has helped the Ammies to back-to-back promotions since joining his hometown club in 2014.

The 23-year-old has just been named in the Evo-Stik Premier's team of the year after helping Salford go up via the play-offs.

His form attracted interest from clubs at a higher level, with speculation of a return to the Football League after playing two games for Accrington Stanley early in the 2014/15 season.

But Lynch has decided to stay with Salford for the club's first year in non-league's second tier.

The Ammies' new league rivals CURZON ASHTON made two more new signings over the weekend.
