What would summer be without a glass of chilled, crisp chablis? This famous white wine region, located in the northern part of France's Burgundy, is home to chardonnay known for its purity and distinctive steely quality. Most producers in Chablis vinify their wine in 100 percent stainless steel without oak, resulting in chardonnay that is clean and precise. Chablis has the following four appellations in ascending order of quality: Petit Chablis; Chablis; Premier Cru; and Grand Cru. Many of these refreshing dry whites can be pricey, but here are two affordable ones:
