From the Post-Gazette, June 26, 1931

Three indictments, handed down yesterday by the June grand jury, virtually assured trial of Mayor Charles H. Kline and former Director of Supplies Bertram L. Succop in crimina court on charges of misdemeanor in office. Each will be required to post bond of $5,000 for appearance in criminal court, probably in the early fall, to answer to counts alleging willful misbehavior and violation of the law.

Mayor Kline is separately indicted on three counts, two charging illegal purchase of expensive rugs for his private office, and the third charging that in the period between the dismissal of Succop and the appointment of Director of Supplies W.R. Dunlap, Mayor Kline let three contracts for trucks to other than the low bidder. …
