Enrollment Underway Joy in Singing Music Camp

The annual Joy in Singing Music Camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. daily July 11-15 at the Fisher Chapel United Methodist Church, located 1/4 mile on the road to Rippling Waters Campground, Sissonville. The camp is open for children going into the first through eighth grades. The $25 registration fee helps to pay the cost of a camp T-shirt, a snack and lunch daily, all supplies, entrance to the Boone County Water Park and the teaching of eight clinicians. Children who attend Fisher Chapel UMC will have no camp fee.

All students will receive instruction on piano, guitar, Orff instruments, vocal production, choreography, basic theory, a lesson on the musical to be presented at the end of the week and a time of recreation.

Camp clinicians will include Kathy Silber, Kanawha County music teachers June Buchanan and Terry Taylor, Jackson County Children's Chorus Director Rita Douglas, Bible Center Church Minister Caleb Korth, Bethany Scarberry of Fisher Chapel UMC and Kim Miller of Goldtown Community Church. …
