Iannone Appointed to Midland Park Council

MIDLAND PARK -- The Borough Council appointed Jerry Iannone on June 23 to fill the council seat vacated by Jack Considine.

Considine resigned effective immediately at the June 9 council meeting, two days after he and running mate John Meeks were defeated by Iannone and Councilwoman Nancy Cronk Peet in the June 7 GOP primary. Iannone and Cronk Peet were supported by the Bergen County Republican Organization, while Considine and Meeks were forced to run on an alternative GOP slate.

Iannone is seeking his first term on the council; Cronk Peet her fifth. They face no Democrat or independent challengers in the Nov. 8 general election.

Councilwoman Lorraine DeLuca said the council received a letter from the Midland Park Republican Committee recommending Iannone, Mark Joustra and Timothy Omelianuk for consideration. …
