Driver's Son Dies; Death by Auto Is Charged

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP -- A former township school official who crashed her car over the weekend, killing her son, was charged with death by auto on Friday in addition to charges that had been filed on Thursday, authorities said.

Debra A. Boucher, 62, a township resident, was under the influence of alcohol when she crashed her car on Upper Hibernia Road on Sunday night, according to Morris County Prosecutor Frederic Knapp.

Her 40-year-old son, James Boucher, died Wednesday from injuries he suffered in the accident, the prosecutor said.

In 2014, Debra Boucher, who was listed in fair condition this week at Morristown Medical Center, was suspended from her job as the township school district's transportation supervisor after she was charged with driving under the influence. …
