PennDOT will close an inbound section of Route 65/Ohio River Boulevard at 9 a.m. Wednesday between the Marshall Avenue/Beaver Avenue exit and the West End Bridge.

The closure, which is expected to last until mid-September, is the latest step in a two-year, $25.3 million project to rebuild the highway between the McKees Rocks and Fort Duquesne bridges. Crews from Lane Construction Corp. will replace a bridge deck during the 75-day closure.

Currently, inbound traffic is limited to one lane between the McKees Rocks and West End bridges and two lanes from the West End Bridge to the Fort Duquesne Bridge. But on Wednesday, inbound traffic will be diverted beginning at the Marshall Avenue/Beaver Avenue exit before the West End Bridge for the bridge work. …
