HASEEB Hameed scored his second County Championship century in three matches as Lancashire held on for a tense draw against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

The opening batsman, 19, enhanced his glowing reputation to keep the Red Rose firmly in the Specsavers Division One title race.

Hameed, 'born to open the batting in Test cricket' according to Notts coach Mick Newell, hit a typically patient 122 off 274 balls after Lancashire conceded a Did Not Bat: N Wagner, M W first- innings lead of 198 on day three.
