For fulfilling, full-service automotive upkeep and reliable maintenance, Lahoda Brothers Auto Repair has been many drivers' preferred destination for the past five years. Originating in a one- bay facility in Nitro in 2011 with a $1,000 investment (two months' rent), Lahoda Brothers Auto Repair is headquartered conveniently at a larger location along Seventh Avenue in North Charleston now.

Owner and founder Don Lahoda rebuilt his first car when he was a 15-year-old student at St. Albans High School. He received automotive repair training at the Ben Franklin Career Center and earned ASE certifications after completing his studies at the Dunbar school.

Lahoda, who still resides in St. Albans, is joined at the North Charleston facility, which opened four years ago, by his son, Donald Jr., of Charleston; Sales Manager and Service Writer Mia Clark, of Chelyan; Chuck Clark, of Sissonville; and Brandon Bowen, of Clendenin.

"We started beside Thomas Tire Services with a $500-a-month rental lease, Lahoda said, "and we've built it from that into this. It's been a pretty remarkable climb.

He added the "Brothers in the name are his two sons.

The Lahoda Brothers Auto Repair's expertly trained service technicians handle virtually all aspects of vehicle repair and restoration. "If we can't fix it, said Chuck Clark, "it's ready for the [salvage] yard.

"We do everything, Mia Clark added. "We do it all. We did several engines last week alone. We're big on brakes and rotors, and we always have oil change specials.

Their service work is guaranteed for two years or 24,000 miles, according to the company website.

Lahoda Brothers Auto Repair also services commercial and fleet vehicles for companies such as Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Dodson Pest Control and the Charleston Sanitary Board. …
