Soldier Oscar Delgado, 26, Found Dead at Fort Riley after Going Missing for a Week

A U.S. Army soldier stationed at Fort Riley was found dead July 1, one week after he went missing, the base announced Thursday.

Spc. Oscar Delgado, 26, had been at Fort Riley since October 2014. His home was in San Francisco, according to a news release.

Delgado was a fire control repairer with the 101st Brigade of the 1st Infantry Division, the military said.

"Our thoughts are with the family of Spc. Delgado," said Lt. Col. Michael Post, commander of the 101st Brigade Support Battalion, in a news release.

The events surrounding Delgado's disappearance and death haven't been publicly released. They remain under investigation by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.

Delgado was reported missing by his unit on June 26, according to Fort Riley officials.
