ALPINE -- Authorities worked through the day Thursday trying to retrieve a body that had been reported in rugged terrain on the cliffs below State Line Lookout along the Palisades Interstate Park.

Officers from the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police and the Bergen County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit had been searching for a missing 24-year-old Paramus man when the dogs smelled a body about 10:45 a.m., according to Chief Michael Coppola of the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police.

Authorities said they did not know if the body was that of Colin Everett, who has been missing since his car was found at State Line Lookout on June 29.

Coppola said the body was in a "remote location" and firefighters had to rappel down the palisades to get to it.
