New gastropub to open on North Shore in August

A new gastropub featuring food by Duquesne Club sous chef Michael Godlewski is coming to the North Shore in time for football season.

The Foundry is set to open in four to five weeks in the former Asiago's site, next to Jerome Bettis Grille 36, according to Ronald Sofranko, a North Hills restaurant consultant who helped broker the deal.

New owners Michelle and Robert Bugg are based in New Jersey, but Mrs. Bugg is a Pittsburgh native and her brother Andrew Stackawicz will move over from his position as the general manager of Peter's Pub to run The Foundry.

Mr. Sofranko said The Foundry will look to emulate the casual upscale dining sensibility of successful Downtown restaurants like Meat & Potatoes and Butcher & The Rye, an element missing in the North Shore's wide array of spots catering to Pirates and Steelers crowds. …
