Interim Schools Chief Departs

WEST MILFORD -- Along with graduating students, the end of the school year saw the departure of interim Superintendent Anthony Riscica.

Riscica joined the school district as its chief administrator in December 2014, shortly after retiring from his post at neighboring Lakeland Regional High School in Wanaque.

As a recent retiree hired on an interim basis following the departure of former Superintendent James McLaughlin, Riscica was not expected to have a long tenure. Regardless, he said during his last school board meeting on June 22 that his 19 months in the district had been fulfilling.

Thanking all involved, from school trustees to families, he concluded: "It was really a pleasure to serve you, and I'm really proud to be part of this organization and this school system."

He also offered congratulations to his successor, Alex Anemone, who started on July 1. …
