Ex-Winger to Return as Manager of Under-15s

FORMER City winger Mark Kennedy is set to return to the club as under-15s manager, M.E.N. Sport understands.

He will leave his post as Ipswich Town's under-21 boss to take up the role at the CFA in the coming days.

Kennedy, 40, played for Millwall, Liverpool, City, Wolves and Crystal Palace before moving into coaching.

During his time at City, he was a key part of Joe Royle 's side that secured promotion to the Premier League in 2000, teaming up well with Shaun Goater.

Kennedy's appointment will be the latest change of City's shake- up of academy staff.

It was announced last week that Rodolfo Borrell will leave his position as Academy Technical Director and join Pep Guardiola's backroom team.

Borrell had spent two seasons overseeing the coaching at the CFA, from EDS level right down to under-9s, and he will now use his knowledge of the club's academy setup to help Guardiola identify the best youth players. …
