No Place for Pog in Fergie's Euro 2016 Top Team

SIR Alex Ferguson and a team of observers have overlooked United target Paul Pogba in their choice of Euro 2016's best XI.

Fergie's fall out with the French midfielder and his agent Mino Raiola infamously saw Pogba quit Old Trafford on a free transfer in 2012 for Juventus.

Now new United boss Jose Mourinho wants him back and the club are prepared to pay Pounds 100m to get the midfielder.

But describing him as a 'containing, deep-lying midfielder who can control the game and dynamic, flexible and creative attackers', Pogba was overlooked.

The 23-year-old was a finalist with hosts France on Sunday, who were beaten by Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal.

The panel, which also included Fergie's United successor David Moyes, also snubbed the claims of Wales' Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.

"After quite a bit of deliberation, the observers chose a team that features the best performing players from the best performing teams at Euro 2016," he said. …
