If fans attending North Allegheny High School home football games want to see an instant replay this season, they can simply look to a new half-million-dollar scoreboard.

North Allegheny High School is renovating Newman Stadium this summer, and part of the refurbishing is a $500,000 scoreboard that will stand five stories high and include a 26-foot video board, according to North Allegheny athletic director Bob Bozzuto. But the school is not picking up the bill for the stadium. All of the funding came from private donations.

Construction of the scoreboard is expected to start in less than two weeks and will be ready for the start of the season Aug. 26. North Allegheny will be the only school in the WPIAL with a video board so large.
