Segedin in Triple-A All-Star Game Tonight

Former NV/Old Tappan baseball star Rob Segedin will play in the Triple-A All-Star Game tonight in Charlotte, N.C.

Segedin, a third baseman/first baseman for the Class AAA Oklahoma City Dodgers, will represent the Pacific Coast League. The PCL's game against International League All-Stars will be telecast by MLB Network at 7 o'clock. A 2010 third-round draft choice the Yankees traded to the Dodgers on Jan. 13, Segedin is enjoying the best season of his minor-league career. The Tulane graduate is batting .302, has hit 16 homers and has knocked home 53 runs for Oklahoma City.

"It's exciting because Triple-A baseball is the highest level of baseball in the minor leagues," Segedin told The Record. "And the fact that we're playing against the International League -- all Triple-A players -- it should be highly competitive and a lot of fun. …
