Former Penn State women's volleyball players Christa Harmotto Dietzen (Hopewell) and Alisha Glass were selected to the No. 1-ranked United States Olympic women's volleyball team. Additionally, Megan Hodge Easy and Nicole Fawcett will be alternates.

All four Nittany Lions were on the roster or served as alternates for the 2012 Games in London. Dietzen and Easy were on the roster, while Glass and Fawcett were alternates.

In those Games, Dietzen and Easy became Penn State women's volleyball's first Olympic medalists. That 2012 squad earned a silver medal, losing to Brazil in the final.

"I am thrilled for the athletes who have been selected because it is such a demanding an arduous process," Penn State head coach Russ Rose said.
