Wood-Ridge Cops Charge Man with Drug Distribution

WOOD-RIDGE -- A 30-year-old Paterson man was arrested on drug charges Monday night after a police officer pulled over a car with tinted windows and an unclear license plate.

Officer Mark Torsiello pulled over the car on South Main Street around 7:45 p.m., Detective Matthew Mueller said. The driver, Christian Vidal, 19, of Paterson, seemed to be nervous and told the officer that he and his passenger, Richard Nunez, 30, of Paterson, were going to a restaurant in Garfield, police said.

But they weren't near the Garfield border, Mueller said.

Torsiello noticed a brick of heroin wrapped in newspaper and a prescription bottle wedged between the passenger seat and the car's center console, the detective said. There were 50 bags of heroin in the brick and 10 Xanax and 29 oxycodone pills in the bottle, police said. …
