Local MMA Fighter Gives Free Tickets for Veterans to Topeka VA

A local mixed martial arts fighter handed over tickets for his upcoming fight to veterans on Friday.

Henry "Rome" Lindsay, 31, will compete in Bellator 159 in Mulvane on July 22. He gave the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System 10 tickets to the event.

"This is just me trying to give back to all of them and so many folks out there fighting for us," Lindsay said.

Lindsay, of Pittsburg, will compete in the night's second fight against Josh Pfeifer, of Manhattan. Lindsay is a lightweight fighter and the son of a veteran.

"I'm fighting back for veterans because veterans go a long time without getting actual recognition for what they've done and their service to us," he said.

Lindsay spoke to reporters Friday inside Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center, 2200 S.W. Gage Blvd. …
