Florida Companies Add 14,600 Jobs

JUNE EMPLOYMENT REPORT

Florida's private sector created 14,600 jobs in June, a decline from the previous month but still a relatively strong performance, according to an assessment by a national human resources and payroll processing firm.

Of the jobs created in Florida in June, 12,600 were in the service-producing sector, while 2,100 were in goods-producing industries, data released Wednesday by ADP and economists at Moody's Analytics Inc. showed.

The Sunshine State had created 17,100 in May, which was a strong rebound from a dismal April count of 9,500. The 14,600 positions added in June was a 35 percent improvement when compared with April.

The professional and business services in June created 3,700 positions.

Manufacturing, rarely a strong performer in the ADP analysis, produced 1,300 jobs, up from just 200 jobs in May. …
