Power Tops Hickory for 5th Straight Win

HICKORY, N.C. - The West Virginia Power topped the Hickory Crawdads 8-1 Friday night at L.P. Frans Stadium. West Virginia allowed its first run in nearly a week and pounded out 11 hits to win its fifth straight.

The Power pitching staff entered Friday having pitched 35 consecutive scoreless innings, including three straight shutouts against the Augusta GreenJackets, to tie the South Atlantic League record, and has allowed just two runs over 45 innings during the last five games.

West Virginia starter Logan Sendelbach pitched two scoreless innings Friday before the Power spotted him to a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning. With two down, the Power's Casey Hughston singled in John Bormann to give the Power the edge.

In the bottom of the third, Hickory plated a run on two hits to snap West Virginia's scoreless inning streak at 37 innings. …
