Carlos Beruff Slams Rubio from Convention Floor

CLEVELAND -- Hoping to draw a contrast with U.S. Sen Marco Rubio on the depth of each man's support for Donald Trump and to generate some media attention for his underdog campaign, GOP Senate candidate Carlos Beruff arrived at the Republican National Convention Tuesday and immediately hit the floor to watch Florida's delegation award it's 99 delegates to Trump.

"I'm here to back up Donald Trump all the way to the White House, unlike Mr. Rubio, who's afraid to take a stance," Beruff, a Manatee County homebuilder, said during a brief interview on the convention floor.

Rubio has been lukewarm on his party's presidential candidate and is not attending the convention, although he is expected to appear by video.

"He's Melba toast on him," Beruff said of Rubio's support for Trump.

Beruff is a devoted Trump backer who pitches himself as a straight-talking outsider. …
