SARASOTA -- A man was sentenced Wednesday to decades in prison for a 2015 home invasion and sexual battery in which the victims were deaf, the State Attorney's Office says.

Herbert Earl Stilley III received the maximum sentence, 30 years in prison, according to a news release from the office of State Attorney Ed Brodsky.

Stilley entered a couple's home in February 2015, pointed a firearm at the woman's face and demanded her phone. Her husband was outside at the time.

Both the victim and her husband cannot hear but can read lips.

The couple's children were asleep in a nearby bedroom.

Stilley asked: "Where is the money?"

According to police, the victim feared for her children's safety so she took Stilley to her bedroom and gave Stilley her purse. …
