'The Customers Are Trying to Save Money. You Get What You Pay For'

THE boss of a parking firm using a Wythenshawe pub as a 'holding site' for holidaymakers' cars says 'they have no other choice'.

The manager told the M.E.N.: "I've worked here for 15 years and we are slowly being squeezed out. To be honest the firms using the pubs are among the better ones - it's the ones using the roads you want to worry about."

He added: "The airport should be supporting us. Many of us are from Wythenshawe, we should be getting support. But there's nowhere at the airport for us to wait for customers so we are stuck using these pubs."

He insisted the pub car park he was using was secure. He said: "The customers' cars won't be parked there for the duration of the holiday, it's only temporary."

He added: "We have staff there 24/7. There's CCTV. I would happily say that some of these pubs are secure car parks, with CCTV and with fencing. …
