Topeka Woman Hopes Blue Light Bulbs Supporting Law Enforcement Go Viral

A Topeka woman hopes that a small gesture supporting law enforcement officers will go viral.

On Sunday, Diane Tolbert installed a blue light bulb in her porch light fixture.

"We wanted to show that we care about (law enforcement officers)," she said. "They take care of us. If we can do something small like a light bulb, it would send a big message. They're in a tough situation right now."

Targeted attacks against law enforcement officers earlier this month in Texas and Louisiana left eight officers dead amid heightened racial tensions across the nation.

Tolbert was in Kansas City on July 19 when a Kansas City, Kan., police officer was shot and killed.
