Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney spent time meeting fans outside Key 103 studios in Castlefield ahead of a live appearance on the Breakfast Show with Mike Toolan.

The England captain posed for selfies and pictures with supporters and signed autographs before stepping inside to hit the airwaves and promote his upcoming testimonial match.

Sporting a full head of hair and wearing jeans and a blue puffer jacket, Wayne was in good spirits as he mingled with fans who had waited in the rain to meet their idol.

Wayne, who has played for the Reds since 2004, will head up a team to take on his first club Everton at Old Trafford next Wednesday. During his chat on the early-morning show, the 30-year- old discussed his relationship with new manager Jose Mourinho and described the Portuguese as a 'friend'. …
