Teachers Help Pupils to Go That Extra Mile at Cheadle Hulme. ; ETHOS OF HIGH EXPECTATION PROVES CATALYST FOR SUCCESS

CHEADLE Hulme High School is the most successful secondary school in Stockport.

Not only is it the best in the area, school leaders also take their responsibility for children in the community seriously.

Cheadle Hulme High, run by the Laurus Trust, has been hugely oversubscribed for years.

Last year it received more than 900 applications for the 270 places it was able to offer pupils moving up to Year 7. With this in mind, headteacher Linda Magrath launched a bid to open a free school as a sister establishment to Cheadle High.

If given the go-ahead, the proposed new school - dubbed Cheadle Hulme High 2 (CHH2) - will open its doors to 150 Year 7 pupils in 2018.

Cheadle Hulme High has an impressive track record.

Ms Magrath believes the school's success is down to the teaching staff's ability to go the extra mile to help children improve. …
