Tomblin should reinstate the foresters who protect our state

In the Thursday, June 30 Gazette-Mail article, page 2C, "Timber industry, Tomblin dispute, the truth finally came out on the recent layoffs of 37 Division of Forestry employees. Gov. Tomblin was pushing for higher taxes while industry used their lobbyists to obtain lower taxes. Meanwhile, 37 hardworking West Virginians were caught in the middle. Should industry pay more? They are very good at making it sound like they are getting the short end of the stick; I guess that is what you get when you spend millions on lobbyists. Natural resource industry has taken advantage of this state for years. That being said, it is the governor's job to protect the citizens and property of this state. If the governor does not end this "I'm bigger than you dispute, once again the people of West Virginia will pay the price. …
