I Blame the System for Letting a Very Sick Man to Be on Streets, Says Victim's Mum

THE mother of murdered Salford student William Lound says she does not blame his killer for his death - but instead the mental health system she says let him down.

Speaking at the sentencing of Lee Arnold, Maureen Lound said that she bore no malice towards him, and that he 'appears to be a very sick man' who should never have been able to walk the streets unsupervised.

Mrs Lound was praised by Judge John Potter for her courage and bravery in speaking out, telling her he admired her strength.

The widow told how her younger daughter Gini is believed to have taken her own life within months of her brother's murder, saying she had lost the two people in life she loved the most - her father John in 2009, and then tragically Will.
