Dorothy Grace Wilkison, 98, of Bradenton passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 in the care of Tidewell Hospice in Bradenton, FL. She was born April 25, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY.

As a WWII bride Dorothy worked at the Red Cross headquarters in Washington, DC and learned her trade as a bookkeeper in night school. She went on to partner in family businesses such as a Vermont farm, a New York restaurant, and a Bradenton estate appraisal and antiques business. Dorothy returned to school once more and became a licensed real estate agent. Upon her husbands' retirement as Bradenton Chief of Police, Dorothy and her husband became active community volunteers. In addition to the aforementioned achievements, Dorothy will mostly be remembered for her personal warmth to all she met and her generous affection to those she loved. …
