The grim picture of deprivation across Greater Manchester is depressingly clear for Risha and Hendrix Lancaster.

The couple run Coffee4Craig, feeding homeless people and those in dire need of a helping hand.

Despite their efforts, their own family is now struggling to make ends meet.

And the irony isn't lost on them. "We literally don't have a spare tenner," said Hendrix 37, from Swinton, Salford.

"It shows how bad things are that we run the charity, but are in such a bad position ourselves.

"Our washing machine broke and we spent weeks using other people's.

"We're well and truly on the breadline - we're in extreme poverty. …
