International Village Festival Features Two New Music Acts Aug. 16-18 Event Preserves Cultures

McKeesport's International Village will feature two new acts this year.

Vocalist Christina Chirumbolo will sing Italian and Irish songs, and Justin Greenwald's band, Stari Drugovi, will play traditional Kolo Serbian and Croatian dance music, said Mikey Dorich, who is in charge of entertainment.

The festival will be held from 3-9 p.m. Aug. 16, 17 and 18.

The musical programs will begin at 6 each night, and the First Night Welcome will be held at 8 p.m. Aug. 16.

That day, the festival will open with a performance of the Hungarian William Penn Magyar Folk Dancers at 6 p.m. and include Kenyan, Slovak, Greek, Serbian, Lebanese and Kolo entertainment.

Musical entertainment on Aug. 17 will include Austrian, Hawaiian, Croatian, Turkish, Bulgarian and Ghanaian performances.

Entertainment on Aug. 18 will include Italian and Irish songs and performances by the Lajkoniki Polish Dancers, the FAAP Dance Troupe of the Filipino American Association of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Area Slovak Folk Ensemble and The Tamburitzans. …
