Calls for postponement of West Virginia American Water's proposed infrastructure surcharge are growing louder. Lawyers representing the company's industrial and residential customers joined the City of Charleston and the Kanawha County Commission in their call for the utility case to be delayed because of the severe flooding that hit West Virginia at the end of June.

"After a disaster such as the June 2016 flood, it is far too easy for many of us to read the stories, view the pictures, make our contribution and move on, said Lee Feinberg, one of the lawyers representing the groups. "We too often forget that in the aftermath for the many people who have lost so much there is so much more to be done.
