Farmers Market Vouchers Available to Putnam County Seniors

The Department of Agriculture has provided this year's West Virginia Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers, worth $28 each, to the Putnam County Aging Program for distribution to Putnam County seniors ages 60-plus based on household size and income. Vouchers are being distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the following locations:

" The Buffalo Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.

" The Hometown Senior Center from 9 to to 11 a.m., Monday through Friday.

" The John Henson Center in Hurricane from 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday.

Vouchers can be distributed in as little as a week, but sometimes last up to a month. Seniors unable to visit a senior center to pick up a voucher can have a proxy go in their place after signing a proxy authorization form. …
