KEY 103 has confirmed it DID sack long-standing presenter Chelsea Norris but insists it did not demand her immediate departure from the station.

The popular host - who fronted the flagship breakfast show with Mike Toolan - had been with the Manchester-based station for 11 years. But she stunned listeners after announcing last month that she would be leaving the show and Key 103.

The M.E.N. revealed last that Chelsea had in fact been axed ahead of a planned shake-up to boost ratings. Chelsea, who returned to the airwaves in January following a maternity break, has not commented about the move - but hinted to fans on her last broadcast that she had not wanted to leave, stating that 'walking away with your head held high is dignity'.

But the station, owned by Bauer Media Group, had previously stayed quiet about the decision to remove the presenter. …
