Nani's New Contract Was 'Worst' Moment

NANI says his decision to commit to United under David Moyes was the 'worst' moment of his life.

The Portugal international was awarded a generous five-year contract in September 2013, despite an underwhelming 2012-13 campaign and suffering an injury during pre-season.

Moyes is understood to have even started Nani in his last game in charge in a shop window tactic, with the intention of jettisoning him in the 2014 summer transfer window.

Louis van Gaal replaced Moyes and Nani made just one substitute appearance under the Dutchman before he left for Sporting Lisbon on loan. Nani left United permanently for Fenerbahce last year.

"It could have been the best moment of my life but it turned into the worst," Nani, who recently joined Valencia, told the Guardian. …
