Legends take two from Power

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The West Virginia Power dropped a pair of contests Thursday, falling 12-4 and 2-1 to the Lexington Legends in South Atlantic League play. West Virginia slipped to 61-61 overall and 26-27 in the Sally League's second half, while Lexington improved to 46-76 and 21-32.

In the first game, the Legends rapped out 13 hits and scored four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. West Virginia finished with nine hits, led by Daniel Arribas and Mitchell Tolman with two apiece. Casey Hughston added a solo homer for the Power.

In the nightcap, Lexington pitcher Scott Blewett (7-11) worked 6 2/3 innings, allowing just four hits with five strikeouts to earn the win.

West Virginia avoided the shutout with a solo homer by Tolman in the top of the sixth.

The Power begin a four-game series in Kannapolis Friday evening, with the first pitch slated for 7:05 p. …
