Rams Raid Old Trafford for Striker Wilson on Season Loan

UNITED striker James Wilson has joined Derby on a seasonlong loan.

Wilson, 20, played just 53 minutes for the first-team last season before he joined Championship club Brighton midway through the campaign, where he scored five goals in 27 appearances.

Derby manager Nigel Pearson said: "We're delighted to have agreed to bring James Wilson on a season-long loan.

"I hope that this loan deal will prove to be mutually beneficial for all parties and I would like to place on record our thanks to Manchester United for allowing James to join us. He is an energetic player who will add to our existing attacking options."

Wilson crowned his United debut as an 18-year-old with two goals against Hull in May 2014 but has managed just two strikes since and failed to perform as a starter. …
